About Mara
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Mara attended the Youth Performing Arts High School and then received her BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Michigan. As a performer, Mara was the dance captain for the Original Broadway Cast of A Christmas Story, The Musical, as well as the dance captain for the first national tour of Shrek, The Musical. As a director and/or choreographer, she has worked at Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, Tuacahn, North Shore Music Theatre, Music Theatre Wichita, Fulton Theatre, Gateway Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, and The Lexington Theatre Company. As a teacher, Mara has taught for the University of Michigan, MPulse Summer Program, Broadway Dance Center, Proctors Summer Dance Program, US Performing Arts Camp, Beyond The Stars, and The Mosaic Youth Theatre. She is a proud member of The Stage Directors & Choreographers Society and Actors' Equity Association. Mara and her husband Michael reside in both New York City and Pittsburgh, along with their two cats, Molly and Garfield, and beautiful daughter, Maple.
